Event Summary

After many years of uncertainty, The Port to Port mountain bike race is on the move. With the team from Event Management Solutions Australia taking over the reigns they have made the call to bring it into their own backyard in South East Queensland.

The event will now be staged predominantly in the Scenic Rim and Ipswich areas over 3 days of racing from May 9 -11 2025

Ian and Rebecca Harwood, owners of Event Management Solutions Australia took ownership of both Reef to Reef and Port to Port in late 2023 and have been looking at the best way to bring Port to Port back to the riding community. Having managed World Cup EDR (EWS) events in Tasmania, and World Championships and Crankworx in Cairns, they really wanted to be able to do something showcasing the great riding in South East Queensland. With over 20 years experience in the field of mass participant, event management, they have a proven track record of working with events, and having them adapt and evolve in changing times. Sure there may not be as much Port as there was in the past, but we are excited to get the good times rolling again.

Stage 1 will take in the variety of trails at Mt Joyce Mountain Bike Park at Wyralong Dam.

Stage 2 will head to Kooralbyn Valley, taking in some of the trails of the Mountain Bike park as well as exploring further in the area.

Stage 3 will see riders finish at Old Hidden Vale at a brand new event space.

What else has changed?

No more pairs racing.   Race against your mates, not beside them.

More prize money.  With no pairs racing we can offer more prize money to the indivduals.

Ebikes allowed.  We will have a class for Ebikes (must comply with Australian regulations)

Charity Partner.  We are teaming up with Dolly's Dream to help raise funds and awareness for this great cause.

How We Roll

Good Mates

Good Mates

When it comes to Stage Races you’d be mad not to bring a friend or two. Four days in the saddle will give you loads of time to point out what’s lacking in their riding technique and general personality. And it’s always handy to have someone to pull you up the hills on day three.

Fun Trails

Fun Trails

It’s a four day event but don’t let that put you off. This is not a slog-fest or the death defying rock gardens of the 90’s. We’ve scouted the funnest trails we could find, with loads of variety each day and achievable distances (45km min, 60km max). The perfect balance of enjoyable time on the bike and enjoyable time sipping beer.

Cold Beers

Cold Beers

Speaking of beer, we’re all for it. Very few things work up a thirst like a multi-stage MTB race. Which is why you’ll find we position our bar so close to the daily finish line. Cheers!
