If you cannot participate in the event, entry fee refunds are available in accordance with the below stated Rider Withdrawal dates only. After the stipulated dates, entry fees are non-refundable for withdrawals initiated by the Rider. Requests for refunds must be notified to the organiser in writing via email at email@example.com
Rider Withdrawal Refunds
Where eligible, please allow up to 30 business days for your refund to be processed. The refund is automatically issued to the credit card originally used to pay for the registration. If this card has since been cancelled or has expired, it is the athlete’s responsibility to notify our customer service team when requesting the eligible refund.

*The following additional purchases paid for at the time of entry (if any) will be refunded in addition to the entry fee: Official Event Photographer photo packages and AusCycling Membership. Any other additional purchases, already paid for on your behalf by the Event Operator to a third party service provider such as medal engraving tags, Absa Cape Epic Donation are not refundable.
**Riders who have deferred into this event from a previous year or transferred into this event from another Oceania event or entered the event through the use of an Event Credit are not eligible for athlete withdrawal refunds.
It is each Rider’s sole responsibility to ensure that they can attend and compete in the event on the day. Other than as provided for in the Rider Withdrawal Program set out above, no refunds will be given for change of mind, change of personal circumstances, or injury.
If you decide to withdraw at the event after collecting your race kit at Registration, please advise Event Information onsite or by calling 1300 761 384. If you need to withdraw on any of the race days, your details must be recorded by the Drop Out Clerk located at Event Information or by calling 1300 761 384.
COVID-19 Related policies
What if I cannot make the event due to border closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic?
The 2022 Port to Port takes place in New South Wales, Australia. It is each athlete’s individual responsibility to ensure they can attend the event location on the event date.
If state or international border closures prevent you from attending the event, you will be given a limited time opportunity to defer your entry to the following year. We will review international border restrictions approximately 30 business days out from the event date, and state border restrictions 7 business days out from the event date.
If you are impacted (based on the home address you entered with), you won’t need to do anything. We will contact you directly by email and provide you with more information.
In the circumstances set out above, there will be no refund of the athlete’s entry fee, or any other costs incurred in connection with the event.
What if the event does not take place on 19 - 22 May 2022, for reasons relating to the Covid-19 pandemic?
Where possible, the event will be rescheduled, and if this happens all registered athletes will have their race registration (and any additional purchases) automatically moved to the new event date. We will provide as much notice as we can. If the new event date is unsuitable, IRONMAN will provide a limited time opportunity to athletes to defer their race registration to the following year.
If for reasons beyond the IRONMAN Group’s control the event is cancelled, all registered athletes will have their race registration (and any additional purchases) moved to the same event the following year. If the new event date is unsuitable, IRONMAN will provide a limited time opportunity to athletes to transfer their race registration to an equivalent event within Oceania (subject to availability).
In the circumstance set out above, there will be no refund of the athlete’s entry fee, or any other costs incurred in connection with the event.
What if the 2022 Port to Port takes place on 19 - 22 May 2022 but is subject to a capacity or density limit?
2022 Port to Port will be conducted in accordance with all health orders in place at the time of the event, including any requirements of the NSW Government and/or NSW Health. Where the event becomes subject to a capacity or density limit, impacted participants (assessed by order of registration) will be invited to select from a number of options, including deferral into the 2023 event or a full refund. We will provide as much notice as we can.
Deferral and Conditions
Defer your entry fee to the 2023 Port to Port regardless of the reason. You must register on or before 11:59pm (AEDT) 17 November 2021 to be eligible and submit a request on or before 11:59pm (AEDT) 4 April 2022.
Riders who elect to defer their entries forfeit any Rider Withdrawal eligible refund. The Deferral Program is not available to athletes who have transferred or deferred into this event; or entered the event through the use of Event Credit. All deferrals are final.

TRANSFER YOUR ENTRY TO A DIFFERENT CATEGORY
Riders can request to transfer their entry from an Individual to a Pair or vice versa up until such time as that category is sold out, subject to the following terms:
To request a transfer from one category to another, athletes must email the customer service team at firstname.lastname@example.org on or before Sunday 15 May 2022. After this date, such requests can only be made at the Help Desk at Rider Rego see Event Schedule.
If transferring into a Pair, email must contain Team name and, chosen team password.
Port to Port welcomes riders of all abilities. Our motto is ‘it’s a ride, not a race’. While there are elite riders participating each year, inexperienced entrants who are new to the sport of mountain biking also enter.
Riders must be 15 years or older on the day of the event. Riders under the age of 18 must have an adult complete the registration form and waiver form and must be accompanied on the ride by a nominated adult.
Riders under the age of 18 must not ride more than 2 minutes apart from their nominated adult at all times. Support crew under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
Compulsory Rider Briefings
All riders are required to attend the compulsory pre-race briefing each day. These will be delivered 15 minutes prior to that stages start. The briefing will inform you on what to expect on course, road rules, dismount zones and rider etiquette. Time penalties will be awarded to riders who do not obey the race rules.
Every rider is required to hold a valid race membership with AusCycling, either an Annual Race Membership or Competition Licence.
Option 1 - Race Membership: You must hold a valid AusCycling race membership for the current season. You will need to enter your membership number at time of registration.
- Note: Lifestyle Membership does not cover you for this event. You can upgrade your membership to include race coverage for by contacting AusCycling. Proof of the upgrade must be presented at Registration Onsite
- Note: AusCycling have a free trial membership (T&Cs apply) that includes race coverage. The trial membership is valid for 4 weeks from when you sign up for it. If you wish to take advantage of this, you will need to register for Port to Port via the General Category and purchase the Race Licence at the time of entry. Once you have registered for your free AusCycling trial membership, email email@example.com with the receipt of free trial membership. We will then refund your Competition Licence fee.
Option 2 - Race Licence: If you don't hold a valid AusCycling race membership you will be required to purchase an AusCycling race licence when you enter (AUD$54.65 for 4-Day Ride and AUD$27.31 for 2-Day Ride inclusive of all fees and taxes).
- All riders must present their AusCycling annual race membership card. Either a physical card or photo on their phone (ie in the App)
- Alternatively you can log into your AusCycling account via the AusCycling website
- If you do not present a valid membership you will be required to purchase a competition licence.
- If you purchased a race licence with your entry you are not required to present any proof at Registration.
