An update from the trails

4 May 2022

We hope you’re getting excited as we approach two weeks to go until we return to Port to Port for the first time in three years! We can’t wait to get the good times rolling again, and the team is well into the final preparations for an epic week of riding.

You don’t have to work in the MET office to know that there has been quite a bit of rain in the region over the past 3-4 months. Luckily, the weather is on the improve, which means our local course team are out on the trails every day checking conditions, planning adjustments, and working with local riders and stakeholders to ensure we look after the trails and deliver an awesome MTB stage race come 19-22 May … albeit one that could be a bit muddy in some places (that’s OK, it’s called mountain biking for a reason!)

As with any year, there will be some tweaks and changes to courses as we lead in to race week. We’ll keep you updated with anything major, but rest assured our whole team’s focus remains, as always, to deliver the best Good Times Rolling experience we can.

So, keep getting ready, start thinking about packing those bags, book your bike in for a pre-race tune up and we’ll see you in the Hunter in just two weeks’ time!
